In the heart of Jaipur City, Purana Ram Mandir is a historical monument connecting modern society to the Jaipur's royal culture.
Spread in wide campus this temple hosts, the deities of Lord Shriram, Sita & Lakshman. Other deities include Radhe Krishna, Laddu Gopalji & Hanuman. The temple is around 200 years old with a center hall and 4 small temples in 4 corners of its parapet. These 4 temples hosts deities of Lord Shiva, Hanuman, Mahadevji & Santoshi Mata. Earlier, the temple was managed by Pt. Brahmanandji but later the management was transferred to Indian Army Hospital management. The temple is located in the Banipark area of Jaipur city which is considered to be a porche area here. Purana Ram Mandir has a govt. primary school running in its campus for over 50 years and, students offer morning prayers here before starting their day.
In the beginning, this temple has main entrance from Station road but now after being taken over by military administration, its main entrance is blocked and, a small gate is placed from inside the army area Overall, this temple stands out as a representative of Jaipur's old cultural heritage in the vicinity of modern residential area. All the festivals are celebrated here with great enthusiasm, mostly by local visitors. Being in close proximity to the military hospital, this temple plays important role in motivating the souls of patients admitted in the hospital. Large campus with plenty of greenery relaxes the patients and help them recover quickly.
Darhan Timings: This temple remains open whole day from 6am to 8pm on all 7 days.
